Democrats and Republicans repeatedly clashed on Tuesday during a lengthy hearing on what the GOP calls "activist judges" blocking President Donald Trump's agenda. Furious over nationwide injunctions, Congressional Republicans are seeking to limit the impact of the federal judiciary.

The Trump administration said it made an “administrative error” in deporting a suspected MS-13 gang member to an El Salvador prison despite an immigration judge’s order barring his removal to that nation.

An alleged gang member given protected status was mistakenly deported and cannot be brought back, the Trump administration argued in a court filing.
