Frank Chu played a key role in running large language models on Apple’s cloud servers and supporting Siri’s search features, as well as its entertainment services. His move to Meta marks another major exit from Apple’s AI ranks, further intensifying the talent drain at the iPhone maker.

Meta’s hiring spree continues, as Bloomberg reports that the company has just hired away yet another researcher from Apple's AI team.

Cloud AI infrastructure lead Frank Chu is the sixth Apple executive to leave for Meta, but may be one of the last as Meta stops hiring for its AI teams.
