Redwood Signs Deal To Recycle BMW EV Batteries in US
BMW Will Recycle All Of Its Old EV Lithium-Ion Batteries In The US
Redwood will work directly with BMW’s network of close to 700 locations across the US, including dealerships, distribution centers, and other facilities, to recover end-of-life batteries. It can recycle and refine critical minerals, including nickel, cobalt, lithium, and copper, and return 95-98% of these minerals to the battery supply chain.
BMW will recycle old EV batteries with Redwood Materials
The German automaker said it would instruct its dealers to send old batteries from all of its electrified models, including battery-electric, hybrid, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles from brands like BMW, Mini, and Rolls-Royce, to Redwood for recycling.

Battery recycling company Redwood Materials gained a new automaker partner today. It has agreed to a deal with BMW of North America to recycle lithium-ion battery packs from BMW's electrified vehicles and will eventually use recycled material from Redwood in battery packs for BMWs built in North America as the automaker works toward a closed-loop supply chain.
