Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, died July 24 at the age of 71, according to a medical examiner’s report. An acute myocardial infarction (better known as a heart attack) caused his death, a consequence of atrial fibrillation and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a kind of slow-moving cancer.

According to medical records obtained by PEOPLE, the superstar had a history of leukemia and atrial fibrillation, a common disorder that causes irregular heartbeats. His history of leukemia, a form of cancer that affects white blood cells, was not previously known. The records included approval for Hogan to be cremated.
