Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota has died after being involved in a car crash. Jota, 28, was involved in the crash in Spain and died alongside his brother Andre, Spanish police have confirmed.

The Spanish Civil Guard confirmed that the Liverpool player and his brother were found dead after their car went off a road near the city of Zamora.

Mr. Jota and his brother André Silva died in Spain, the authorities said. The crash came two weeks after the Portuguese player’s wedding.
