Firefighters have made enough progress on a massive wildfire burning in Ocean County for officials to fully reopen both the Garden State Parkway and Route 9 on Wednesday morning. About 25,000 homes and businesses remain without power early Wednesday, Jersey Central Power & Light said.

Normal traffic patterns are resuming on Wednesday, but officials in the towns affected by the Jones Road wildfire urge drivers to use caution.

Officials at the decommissioned Oyster Creek nuclear plant nearby said all buildings on the site are designed to withstand fires.
