With higher quality shadows, foliage and level of detail on the PS5 Pro, even PlayStation’s higher-powered console fails to hit 60fps. In fact, sometimes the game runs even worse on the Pro machine than its cheaper counterpart.

Instead, Digital Foundry’s analysis revealed the opposite: Snake Eater runs better on the base PS5. They confirmed that the PS5 Pro “can run at a lower frame rate than base PS5.” In the game’s early jungle section, performance dipped below 60 FPS on the Pro, while the standard model held steady.

Snake Eater will be a faithful remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater originally released in 2004 for the PS2.
