A Ukrainian drone has struck a Russian industrial plant 800 miles from Ukraine, a local official said, after Kyiv prioritised the weapon’s development and Russia pounded Ukraine with a record number of drones last month.

The overnight attack was one of the largest on Ukraine and included strikes in the western part of the country, which is hit less often.

Moscow has been escalating its bombardment of Ukraine over the past several months as U.S.-mediated peace talks stall.
