There just happens to be a sharpshooting guard who is still available on the free agent market this deep into the summer. According to NBA insider Brett Siegel at ClutchPoints, the Knicks are one of multiple teams that may be interested in snagging Malik Beasley, who is coming off a strong season with the Detroit Pistons.
The 28-year-old was named as a person of interest in a federal gambling investigation related to gambling in late June.
Beasley immediately becomes one of the top available free agents after being cleared as a target of a federal gambling investigation
This news could reopen his free agency after it hit a long pause following the initial investigation earlier this summer. SNY’s Ian Begley reported that the Knicks were among the teams that conducted background work on the situation and determined how likely or unlikely it was for him to get suspended.
