Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo paid tribute to his international team-mate Diogo Jota, who was killed in a car crash on Thursday, saying "we will all miss you."

Jota was a celebrated soccer player, spending the last five seasons with Liverpool. He helped lead the team to a Premier League title during the 2024-25 season. He also starred with Portugal, helping the team beat rival Spain in a penalty shootout in his final match in June.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to the death of his Portugal teammate Diogo Jota, saying it "doesn't make sense." Liverpool star Jota, 28, died in a car accident in Spain on Thursday along with his younger brother, André Silva, a professional soccer player with Portuguese side FC Penafiel.
