KYIV, Ukraine -- Ukraine said it struck a Russian airbase on Saturday, while Russia continued to pound Ukraine with hundreds of drones overnight as part of a stepped-up bombing campaign that has further dashed hopes for a breakthrough in efforts to end the more than 3-year-old war.

KYIV, Ukraine -- Russia targeted Ukraine overnight with 322 drones, 292 of which were "neutralized" by being either shot down or supressed by other means, according to the Ukrainian air force. Eleven people, including two children, were injured in the Kharkiv area, in a drone strike overnight there, according to local emergency services.

Russia launched a record number of drones at Ukraine overnight into Friday, striking multiple buildings and residential areas, hours after US President Donald Trump said he had made “no progress” towards a ceasefire deal in a phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
