An updated coastal flood advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 11:08 a.m. valid from Thursday 8 a.m. until Friday 3 p.m. for Cumberland County.
On Saturday at 1:42 a.m. a coastal flood advisory was released by the NWS Wilmington NC valid between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for Coastal Pender and Coastal New Hanover.
The National Weather Service issued an updated coastal flood watch at 5:15 a.m. on Friday valid from Sunday 11 a.m. until Tuesday 2 a.m. for Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Plymouth, Bristol, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties.
A coastal flood warning and advisory remains in effect through Sunday morning. During high tide, saltwater flooding is likely in areas that usually see tidal flooding. This weekend’s tides are expected to run about half a foot to a foot higher than last week, which could put water levels 2 to 3 feet above typically dry ground.

Pawleys Island receive impacts from coastal flooding
King tides and heavy rain are causing major flooding across Pawleys Island, leaving roads washed out and neighborhoods underwater. Dozens of Lowcountry beaches and communities are feeling the effects of a powerful coastal system.
As temperatures begin to cool this weekend, strong northeasterly winds will continue to cause rip currents, high waves and flooding at high tide.
