The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team team broke a record in Concacaf qualifying on Monday night : 22 goals. In their opening match of the Concacaf FIFA U17 World Cup qualifying tournament, the Americans netted a 22-0 win over the U.

The eight CONCACAF group winners qualify for the expanded 48-nation Under-17 World Cup, to be played in Qatar from Nov. 5 through Nov. 27, and there is no knockout stage in CONCACAF qualifying. The FIFA tournament had 16 teams from 1985-2005 and 24 teams from 2007-2023.
