COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A WINTER STORM WARNING is now in effect until 7am Sunday along and south of I-70 due to expected snow accumulations of 4’-6”. Travel could be difficult and roadways are expected to be slick.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a series of winter weather warnings and advisories for incoming winter weather affecting more than a dozen states nationwide. The alerts come on the heels of a bout of extreme winter weather that swept across large portions of the country just last week.
Dangerously cold wind chills are possible early Sunday with wind chills potentially dropping into the teens below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for the Miami Valley from 7 pm Saturday until 11 am Monday. Highs will be only in the upper teens on Sunday with lows dropping into the single digits again Sunday night.
The Pittsburgh region received a weekend blast of winter weather, including heavy snowfall in many places south of Pittsburgh. KDKA-TV's Chilekasi Adele reports from Washington County.
