A shooting at a manufacturing business is under investigation. A victim was shot several times at Trims Unlimited in Almont by a suspect who then fled and was shot by Lapeer County deputies.
One person was hospitalized after a shooting in Almont and police were involved in a shooting with the suspect later in the Metamora area.
The attack was a targeted act of violence, "believed to be motivated by the assailant’s anti-religious beliefs against the Mormon religious community," the FBI said Friday.
The attack on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Mich., came in the middle of Sunday service.
A 32-year-old Columbus Township man is in custody after a shooting in Almont left one person dead early Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Almont Village Police Department said in a news release that officers were dispatched to a local business around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of an active shooter.
