Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Friday that Florida is entering into a partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to strengthen immigration enforcement in the state.

Gov. Ron DeSantis is pressing ahead on aiding federal deportation efforts even as he remains locked in a stalemate with legislative leaders over new laws to beef up state and local immigration enforcement.

"This agreement will give FHP expanded power and authority to interrogate any suspected alien or person believed to be an alien" in the U.S., DeSantis said.
