John Wesley Ryles, a prolific country music entertainer with tons of hits from the late 1960s through the 1980s, died Sunday, Nov. 2. He was 74. Ryles’ death was first announced on Facebook by Tracy Pitcox, owner of Heart of Texas Records, who detailed the singer’s illustrious career.

Leslie Wilson, lead singer of New Birth, has died. Known for hits like "Wild Flower" and "I Can Understand It," he shaped '70s soul.

“She was a sweet and warmly beautiful spirit, and all those who knew her are united in loss,” the family statement reads. “The family requests privacy at this time of grieving. “In the words of Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, ‘May the four winds blow her safely home.’”
