The National Hurricane Center is now predicting Jerry will not strengthen into a hurricane.

Jerry is not a threat to Louisiana or the Gulf Coast, but a tropical storm watch was in effect for portions of the Caribbean as of Thursday morning.

“Significant impacts from a strong coastal storm appear increasingly likely for our area Sunday and Monday,” the National Weather Service said in a briefing update Thursday afternoon.
