Relations between India and Pakistan are cratering following a deadly attack in the disputed Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir that left more than two dozen tourists dead, raising fears of military escalation between the nuclear-armed rivals.

The Pakistani government announced a series of sweeping retaliatory measures a day after India took aim at its neighbor and archnemesis.

Pakistan has denied it was behind Tuesday's attack that killed 26 mostly Indian tourists at a popular scenic spot in the Himalayan region.
