TORONTO - Ontario identified 78 new measles cases over the course of two weeks, public health officials said Thursday, calling it the largest outbreak the province has seen in almost 30 years.

Ontario is reporting 84 new measles cases over the last two weeks, nearly doubling the province’s total count since an outbreak started in the autumn.

Cases of measles spiked dramatically in Ontario, with 84 cases reported in the last two weeks alone. The province has now reported more cases this year than in the prior ten years combined. Health reporter Katherine Ward has more.
