A San Jose police sergeant is in critical but stable condition, and a suspect is dead following a multi-county chase tied to an armed carjacking on Wednesday afternoon, San Jose police say.

A fifth-grade student in the Moberly School District died after an accidental shooting over the weekend, the district said in a statement Tuesday

The suspect was rushed to University Hospital in Newark.
