The Ben Simmons saga in Brooklyn is nearing its end. League sources confirmed to the New York Daily News that the 6-10 guard is finalizing a contract buyout with the Nets and is set to become a free agent.

Ben Simmons’ time with the Brooklyn Nets appears to be over. The No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft was not with the Nets for their game Friday night against the Miami Heat as the sides work toward a buyout of his contract.

Ben Simmons' career hasn't fully panned out the way many were expecting, but the 6'10" guard still presents a very unique opportunity for teams to acquire. After 2.5 seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, it looks like Simmons will be moving to a new team in the immediate future.
