Typhoon Kajiki has brought strong winds and heavy rain to southern China's Hainan island and parts of Guangdong province.

In Vietnam, tens of thousands of people are being evacuated as Typhoon Kajiki strikes the central coast. The storm, with winds reaching around 160 kilometers per hour, is expected to hit land on Monday afternoon.

Strong winds and heavy rain whipped South China's Hainan province and parts of Guangdong province on Sunday, as Typhoon Kajiki passed over open waters to the south of Hainan and headed toward Vietnam's central coast.
