Millions of people in Chile had their routines disrupted by an almost nationwide power cut.

A sweeping power blackout has left most of Chile in darkness. Tuesday's blackout sent internet and phone services offline, paralyzed businesses and forced evacuations of tunnels and subways in the South American nation.

A massive power outage across Chile plunged the country's capital Santiago into darkness on Tuesday (February 25) and knocked out electricity to major copper mines in the country's north, buffeting global metal markets. Syakir Jasnee reports.
