A Southwest flight had to quickly abort its landing to avoid a potential collision with a private jet on the runway at Chicago's Midway Airport.

Pilots on a Southwest Airlines flight attempting to land at Chicago's Midway Airport were forced to climb back into the sky to avoid another aircraft crossing the runway on Tuesday morning.

The incident involving American Airlines flight 2246 from Boston happened around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, nearly two hours before a Southwest Airlines flight in Chicago had to perform the same maneuver to avoid colliding with a private jet.
