On Saturday night, Brian Ortega and Aljamain Sterling are now set to compete at a catchweight of 153 pounds. Despite the promotion’s call to move the bout to being closer to a lightweight contest than a featherweight one, fans were still concerned for Ortega after he stepped on the scales.
UFC Shanghai nearly turned disastrous Thursday night (Friday in China) as former UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling and former UFC Featherweight challenger Brian Ortega were set to weigh in for their co-main event for Saturday's UFC Fight Night.
While many in the United States will be sleeping, the UFC will be on the ground in Shanghai with 12 fights on the docket. A loaded preliminary card begins at 3 a.m. ET while the main card begins at 6. Half of the bouts are projected to end inside the distance.
