Russia unleashed a massive drone attack on the Ukrainian capital, hours after US President Donald Trump expressed frustration at failing to make any progress toward ending Moscow’s war on Ukraine during a call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed the destruction of a facility belonging to the Russian defence industry - the Energia plant in the city of Yelets in Lipetsk Oblast of Russia.

The overnight attack was one of the largest on Ukraine and included strikes in the western part of the country, which is hit less often.
