Britain's King Charles and other senior royals are due to join veterans and crowds to watch a grand military parade and flypast at the start of four days of commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said she rejected an offer by President Trump to send U.S. troops to fight Mexican drug cartels. The King will lead the nation through the most prominent VE Day celebration in years. Last year was the deadliest for Russian forces since the start of the full-scale war with at least 45,287 killed.
