Last week, a beautiful Varied Thrush came to the Alaska Raptor Center after striking a window. Thankfully, after a thorough exam and some rest, no injuries were found, and this little thrush was ready to return to the wild! Window collisions are one of the most common reasons birds come into our care. While we can’t teach birds to recognize glass, we can make a difference. Adding decals, tape patterns, or UV window reflectors helps break up reflections and alerts birds that a barrier is there. A
