OBTURATOR INTERNUS (OI) What is OI? This is a muscle located on the anterolateral aspect of the pelvis and connects to the head of the femur (hip bone). This muscle is a hip rotator and stabilizer but is intimately connected to the pelvic floor (PF) muscles as they are neighbours within the pelvic cavity and fascia links the OI to the PF muscles.
