Today, the largest federal workers’ union, the American Federation of Government Employees, called on Senate Democrats to end their political charade and vote to reopen the government. The government shutdown is impacting the around 31,000 federal employees in the Tampa Bay region. Tatishka Thomas, with the American Federation of Government Employees, said the shutdown is creating a safety issue if they're having to take on second jobs and work extra hours to make ends meet while they're not being paid by the federal government. #Florida Matters | WUSF Public Media
