Transplanting Iris Made Easy! Today, I spent time working on separating and transplanting irises to create a more balanced and beautiful bed. This particular patch needed a little love—thinning out the overgrown spots and redistributing the plants to fill in gaps will help them flourish! ✨ Steps: Carefully lift the iris clumps. Separate the tubers, discarding any that are unhealthy. Replant in prepared soil, ensuring proper spacing for growth. . . . . . #irises #gardening #gardentips #irisgarden

SNIP SNIP ✂️Why and how we trim irises before transplanting: 🌱 In short, trimming encourages faster recovery, reduces mess, and makes handling easier. Newly transplanted rhizomes do not yet have a fully established root system, so their ability to supply nutrients to the leaves is limited. Cutting the foliage back by at least half (some gardeners prefer even more) lessens the demand placed on the developing roots by reducing the plant’s photosynthetic load. Lightly trimming the roots can also b

Here's what you need to know before fall hits. 1.Loosen compacted soil:Aerating in the fall helps loosen hard, compacted soil so air and water can get down to the roots. 2. Grow stronger roots:Aerating gives grass roots more room to grow deeper and stronger. 3. Improve seed germination:Aerating helps grass seeds make better contact with the soil, giving them a better chance to germinate. 4. Help water and fertilizer reach the roots:Aerated soil lets water and nutrients move deeper into the root
