Salute! Yesterday as the Maryland Color Guard enters the Point Lookout POW Camp's Confederate Cemetery. This was the cemetery for the largest POW Camp in America's history which held more than 52,000 Confederate prisoners over a 2 year period. This is also the largest Confederate mass grave site in the world where approximately 7,000 (the obelisk counts about 3,400, but some estimates are as high as 14,000) were reinterred here from about 4 other cemeteries after the war.
