Wondering if your baby might just have lower sleep needs than average? 💤 Here are a few signs to look out for: ✨ Sleeping closer to 10–11 hours overnight instead of the expected 12 , even with an earlier bedtime. ✨ Having long, content wake periods in the night (often called split nights) despite being on an age-appropriate nap routine. ✨ Consistently fighting or dropping a nap earlier than most babies their age. ✨ Laying happily awake in their crib for 30 minutes at bedtime before falling asle

Why do some babies still wake for a feed at night long after they’re developmentally capable of sleeping through? Most babies don’t always naturally drop their last night feed on their own. This is because if they’ve been consistently fed around the same time each night, their body clock becomes conditioned to expect those calories, even if they are now developmentally capable of meeting all their nutritional needs during the day. So if you’re down to that last night’s feed and your pediatrician

Replying to @robshowden the idea that every baby should have a 2-hour midday nap isn't supported by the evidence. Sure, some babies genuinely do need a long nap in the middle of the day - but many don't. Trying to encourage more daytime sleep than your baby actually needs can reduce sleep pressure and even lead to increased wakefulness at night. So please don’t stress about this one! 📚 Reference: Galland, B. C., Taylor, B. J., Elder, D. E., & Herbison, P. (2012). Normal sleep patterns in infant

People are so sweet when they tell me I just got an easy baby. Some of it probably is temperament. Some babies really are harder than others, that’s the truth. But it wasn’t all her. She slept 5 to 6 hour stretches until 4.5 months. Then the 4 month sleep regression hit and she was up every 45 minutes. At 2am I’d be on my phone, brightness turned all the way down so the light wouldn’t wake her, searching for anything that would help. Funny how it only gets called temperament when it’s working. W

When a baby carries tension in their jaw, neck, or trunk, it shows up everywhere. The latch. The mood. The sleep. The comfort nursing that never actually feels comfortable for either of you. Infant massage and bodywork aren’t clinical tools. When we release tension in the right places, babies can: ✔ Open wider at the breast or bottle ✔ Create a more effective seal ✔ Coordinate suck-swallow-breathe more smoothly ✔ Drop out of that fight-or-flight state ✔ Sleep longer, fuss less, and feel more set

I feel like I’m in the brink of actual burn out/exhaustion and the baby isn’t even here yet? Is this normal or do I need some sort of actual sleep remedy that’s going to knock me out 😅😅 #fyp
